This book was recommended by David Waugh as part of the ‘50 Years- 50 People- 50 Books!’ series. Here is their full message and recommendation:

When were you involved in GLO and in what role?

‘I began working at the bookshop on Thursday evenings and Saturdays back in 1998. This was my first job, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the working environment that GLO provided. After my time at GLO I joined Logos II, one of the Operation Mobilization ships, and because of my experience with GLO I was asked to work on board in the bookshop. I am still working with OM Ships to this day and am still involved with literature after all these years.’

Why have you recommended this book?

‘During my time on board the ship Logos II, I was involved in a leadership course where I was given this book. The course was good, but this book has been something that I have used time and time again through the years of my leadership and working with people. This book is unlike any other leadership book that you would read as it is a very simple read. The author uses stories to keep you captivated as you read this book, giving biblical examples and helping you understand how to be a great shepherd looking after your flock. I have read this book many times over and have given it as a gift to many of my friends who are working with people and want to do it in a biblical way.’

With great thanks for this recommendation for the ‘50 Years- 50 People- 50 Books!’ series

Discover a fresh perspective on the art of leading in Dr. Kevin Leman's story about a young reporter who lands the meeting of a lifetime and walks away with the keys to exceptional leadership. The Way of the Shepherd points you beyond dated trends and out-of-touch management techniques to the strategies that will make you a truly outstanding leader.

When William Pentak had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interview Ted McBride, one of the most respected CEOs in America, he was shocked by what McBride was willing to share. McBride taught him the seven secrets he inherited long ago from his mentor--an eccentric but brilliant professor who passed on these time-tested management principles that, while ancient in their origin, are still applicable in today's fast-paced, high-tech world.
